Perhaps Oslo's nicest choir for women of all ages and nationalities

OINKK was founded in Oslo in 2017 by Liv Karin Dahlstrøm and Mari Eckhoff Tveito. They wanted to create a platform where women of all nationalities could meet Norwegian women and get to know each other through song and social gatherings. You can read about the choir's early days HERE.
Since then, much has happened. Mari moved to Australia to work on new exciting projects, Linn Andrea Fuglseth became our new conductor in August 2020. We have expanded in number and in repertoire and have held numerous concerts in collaboration with wonderful musicians such as Vegar Vårdal, Åsmund Reistad, Sidsel Walstad, Birger Mistereggen and Kenneth Ekornes. Apart from our biannual concerts, we like to have some exciting projects on the side. In 2023, we performed Brynjulf Jung Tjønn's 'Kvit, norsk mann' at Dramatikkens Hus in Oslo. We were invited to join the opera project Dido and Aeneas at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts in the spring of 2026, where we got to test out our acting skills as active chorus members. Some of us have even appeared on the TV screen as extras in the Netflix series Home for Christmas, season 3. And that's just a selection of all the smaller and bigger projects we have thrown ourselves into. Who knows what the future will bring?
Shivering side by side behind the scenes before a performance is a bonding experience in its own right, and throughout the years we have become a place of song and play - a creative community of women from all over the world who are dedicated to connecting through music and shared experiences.
We currently have around 50 active members originating from 25 different countries. If you wish to join the choir, look out for our call for new members on our facebook page. We usually open up for new members in the start of each semester.
